Big Bertha was a German super-heavy 420 mm mortar developed by the Krupp works before the First World War. Weighing around 43 tonnes, the weapon was first used in 1914 during the advance through Belgium and became famous for destroying fortified works.
Before closing up the assemblies, check the fit of the split barrel and of the elevating mechanism. Liquid cement for plastic, a base coat of primer and spraying with an airbrush are recommended. The bulky surfaces of the carriage and the platforms come out well after washes and pigments have been applied for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
