The real subject

Kubus is an improvised armored car that the insurgents built during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 on a truck chassis. The armor plates were welded in a hurry and out of whatever was to hand, so the car has none of the elegant shapes of production vehicles: it is angular, tall and at first glance you can tell that it came out of a workshop and not out of an arms factory. That is exactly why it is popular among modelers, because it tells a story by itself and does not get lost on the shelf among tanks.

What the kit offers

A model of the vehicle in 1:35 scale, that is in the usual scale of ground vehicles, in which it can be completed with figures and with urban scenery. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted and bears the Model Set designation. Building and painting tips

Separate the parts a little way from the mating surface and level the remainder with a file; always dry-fit the assembly first. With an improvised build you can allow yourself a rougher surface than on a production vehicle: suggested welds, slightly uneven plates and worn paint on the edges look more convincing than a perfectly smooth surface. The car drove around a city full of rubble, so light brick dust suits the wheels and the underside; contrast is then added by a dark wash into the corners and the joints.
