An injection-molded plastic kit of a specialized version of the American eight-wheeled armored vehicle Stryker. 1:35 scale, made by Trumpeter. It rounds out a numerous family in which the same manufacturer also covers versions for carrying infantry, reconnaissance, command, engineer tasks and casualty evacuation.
The Stryker is a family of eight-wheeled armored vehicles of the US Army derived from a Canadian design. Betting on wheels instead of tracks gave units speed of movement by road and easy air transport. The M1135 version serves to reconnoiter contaminated ground. It carries detection equipment, sampling arms on the sides of the hull, sensors on a mast and overpressure filtration, thanks to which the crew works inside without protective suits. Its equipment also includes a device for marking the boundaries of a contaminated area, so that the vehicle marks out a safe passage behind it. On the roof there is a remotely operated weapon station controlled from inside the hull.
With wheeled vehicles what matters is that all eight wheels stand straight on the surface, so set the model on a flat board while it dries. Distinguish the tires with a more matte shade than the hull. The sampling arms and the sensors are small and break off easily, so leave them to the end of the build. Modern American vehicles wore a uniform sand or green finish, on which gentle lightening of the panels and a light dusting of the wheel arches work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
