A plastic kit of an army truck from the range of the AFV Club brand. The subject is a five-ton vehicle with 6x6 drive, the workhorse of supply convoys, without which no larger operation would get by.
The trucks of this five-ton series served the American army for decades and became an everyday part of moving materiel and men. The A2 version goes with a powerplant able to burn several kinds of fuel, which made supply in the field easier. Besides ordinary transport, the chassis was used as the basis of tankers, of workshop bodies and, in Southeast Asia, of improvised armored vehicles with armament, which the crews called gun trucks.
The frame takes the most work: it is better to fit the axles, the springs and the power transmission dry, so that the vehicle stands level on all its wheels. The plank bed looks good once the texture has been brought out with a dark shade and the edges lightly sanded. Mud and dust effects come at the very end, and the wheels, the fenders and the lower part of the bed will take the most of them.
The goods contain unpainted parts for building the vehicle. Glue, paints and pigments are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
