A plastic kit of the American M60A3 main battle tank in 1:35 scale from the brand Eduard. The package combines injection-molded plastic parts with photo-etched sheet, which refines the small features of the superstructure, the baskets and the fittings on both hull and turret. The result is a well equipped model of the classic Cold War Patton version.
The M60A3 was the ultimate upgrade of the M60 Patton series. Compared with the earlier versions it received an improved fire control system, a laser rangefinder and stabilization of the main 105 mm gun; the TTS variant additionally a thermal imaging sight. The tank formed the backbone of the armored forces of the United States and of a number of allies from the 1970s and in upgraded forms served well into the end of the Cold War.
With military vehicles it pays to assemble and fine-tune the running gear and the lower hull before the hull is closed up. Use thin cement on the plastic, bond the photo-etched parts with super glue and bend them over a metal edge. Apply a primer before painting and spray the paint with an airbrush. The character of the tank is completed by a dark wash in the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
