The Merkava Mk.4 is a late series of the Israeli main battle tank. On the turret it carries machine guns held on movable mounts, which are among the most conspicuous small things of the whole build: they are up on top, they are visible from every side and they give away at once how carefully the model has been built.
The set brings two machine guns in the version designated V.3 and two mounts to go with them, that is the fittings on which the weapon sits. It replaces the corresponding parts from the Merkava Mk.4 kit from Meng in 1:35 scale and gives them finer definition than can be achieved on such small parts in the base kit.
The parts are small and thin, so work over a mat and preferably with tweezers. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down. Plastic cement may not work on these parts; super glue holds reliably. Paint the weapon separately and fit it to the turret at the very end, so that it is not damaged during the rest of the work. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, and bring out the metal look of the barrel with a dark base and a gentle sheen.
The set suits modelers who are building the Merkava Mk.4 and want the armament on the turret cleanly finished, whether on its own or in a scene with figures.
The set completes a kit, which it does not contain. Paints and glue are not in the package unless stated otherwise.
