Reskit 1:35 — 3D-printed exhausts for the MH-60L, MH-60S, HH-60G and HH-60H for the Kitty Hawk / Zimimodel kits. It is not a kit of the helicopter but a detail accessory: one set covers four versions of the H-60 family at once.
Responsibility details are not available.
Note: this is NOT a kit of the helicopter. It is a 3D-printed detail set from Reskit that replaces the plastic exhausts on a model of the Sikorsky H-60 family you have already bought, in 1:35 scale. The set is intended for the Kitty Hawk / Zimimodel kits — Zimimodel releases these helicopters from the Kitty Hawk molds, which is why one set fits both brands. The strength of this package is its reach: one set covers four versions — the MH-60L, MH-60S, HH-60G and HH-60H. Anyone building several machines of the Black Hawk / Seahawk family does not have to buy four different sets.
An injection mold cannot cast a thin open tube, so a plastic exhaust is necessarily thick-walled and blanked off — instead of an opening there is a blind wall, and the edge of the nozzle has a thickness real sheet metal never has. 3D printing solves that: the nozzle is open, with a thin wall and a visible interior. What matters is that the exhaust is very visible on a model and it is usually the first place where weathering is done — soot, dark streaks along the fuselage and heat discoloration of the metal. On a blanked-off plastic nozzle those effects never look good, because the eye is missing depth. So one small part gives you one of the most striking visual improvements on the whole model.
The parts are printed on carrier supports — these have to be cut off with a sharp knife or a fine saw and the marks sanded down. They are not bonded with cement for polystyrene (that has no effect on printed resin) — use super glue (cyanoacrylate), or epoxy on larger areas. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, so that no print resin residue is left on the surface and the paint holds. Dust from sanding is harmful to health — sand wet and do not breathe it in. Painting: build the metallic shades and heat tints up in layers, and add the soot with pigment or a heavily thinned dark wash, and that only after the fuselage has been painted.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, without a base kit. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
