1:35 Modern Fuel Drums is a set of Vallejo modern fuel drums in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit but a diorama prop for contemporary and postwar scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory is a scenic prop, not a model of hardware. Its focus on the modern form of drums makes it a rewarding addition for dioramas of the postwar and contemporary era, of which there tend to be fewer in the modeling range than scenes from the Second World War. The 1:35 scale matches ordinary modern vehicles and figures.
Modern drums fit into a field back area, beside base containers, at the edge of a landing area or into a civilian industrial setting. They work as a filler of space, but also as cover, a support point for a figure or a surface for equipment set down. You can combine them with jerrycans, crates and concrete barriers in the same scale.
The viewer recognizes modern working equipment mainly by its markings. So deal with the warning stripes and lettering using decals or carefully masked spraying rather than painting freehand — an uneven line gives the scale away at once. Leave the surface semi-gloss; modern containers tend to have fresher paint than wartime ones, so there is no point in burying them in rust. Dust on the lower part, wear on the edges and a few dark marks from handling points and bungs are enough.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a model of a vehicle or figures. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
