Panther Ausf. A – interior 1:35, the first part. An extensive Royal Model set for models with a view inside the hull.
Responsibility details are not available.
The inside of the hull of the Panther Ausf. A deserves attention above all on models with open hatches or with a section of armor removed. Royal Model has prepared an extensive set for it, which forms the first part of a two-part offering.
The Ausf. A was the second production version of the Panther and introduced the ball mount for the hull machine gun, a new cast commander's cupola with seven periscopes and a series of changes that came out of the first combat experience. Inside the hull the driver and the radio operator sat at the front, with the drive shaft from the rear engine running between them. In the fighting compartment, stowage for 75 mm rounds was hidden along the sides and under the rotating turret floor. The high sides and the steeply sloped front armor meant that the space was fairly generous in width but at the same time low and uncomfortable for a tall crew member.
An interior is built up in layers and everything is painted as you go, because once you close the hull you will no longer get inside. Check dry whether the turret still rotates freely once the floor is seated. The interior surfaces had a light finish, which does the model nothing but good: a light base color, dark running into the corners and wear on the edges of the seats and the controls.
The kit of the tank is not part of this offering.
