About product

Panzer Art 1:35 Tiger I tracks, initial type (resin)

This set brings 3D-printed resin link tracks of the initial type in 1:35 scale for the German Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger I heavy tank. It is not a kit of the tank but replacement tracks with which you replace the rubber or split plastic tracks from the base kit and get a more convincing rendition of the running gear.

What the set is for

The initial type of the Tiger I's wide combat tracks had a characteristic link pattern, as carried by the first machines built. The 3D printing captures the crisp detail of the guide horns, the openings and the wear, which is hard to imitate with production metal or rubber tracks. Resin holds its shape and allows realistic sag of the upper run of the track.

Usage tips

Wash the print resin residue off the links or segments and separate them from the print supports. Glue them with super glue and render the upper run of the track with a slight sag over the road wheels. The tracks come out well once painted with a metallic base, a wash and pigments for mud and dust effects.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of models of early versions of the Tiger I heavy tank
  • Modelers with a taste for realistic running gear
  • More experienced builders interested in working with resin

The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
