Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the manufacturer Miniart holds figures of members of the British engineer branch, that is of the Royal Engineers corps, in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle, but a separate figure kit intended to fill out a diorama or a display scene. The set is marked as a special edition.
The Royal Engineers is the engineer corps of the British army. Its members took care of the work that made the movement of other units possible: building and repairing bridges, putting roads back into service, clearing mines, field fortification and demolition. Their equipment reflected that practically. Alongside ordinary combat kit they carried tools, measuring aids and materials, so figures of engineers suit scenes with construction and engineering work above all, not combat tableaux.
The figures are built from injection-molded plastic, they are glued with ordinary polystyrene cement, and before painting the mold seams have to be cleaned up carefully, especially on the arms and on the sides of the torso. Polishing a seam over on a uniform is more visible than on a vehicle, so it pays to sand with fine paper and to check the surface after the primer has gone on. Paint in thin coats: first the primer, then the base shade of the uniform, then shading with a darker shade into the folds and finally a lightening of the raised areas. Faces come out well with oil paints, which stay workable for a long time and allow a smooth transition. Paint small accessories and tools separately while you still have them on the sprue, and fit them only at the end.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
