Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale covers the Russian BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicle in the form with the modernized turret module that the manufacturer names Berezhok. That module is the main difference from the older BMP-2 versions and it defines the overall silhouette of the model.
The BMP-2 is a Soviet tracked infantry fighting vehicle introduced at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s as the successor to the BMP-1. Compared with its predecessor it received a turret with a 30 mm 2A42 automatic cannon, which can deal with lightly armored targets and with air targets at low altitude. The Berezhok upgrade is a combat module developed by the Tula design bureau: to the automatic cannon and the coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun it adds a 30 mm automatic grenade launcher and a launcher for Kornet anti-tank guided missiles. A new fire control system with a thermal imaging sight completes it, which lets the vehicle fight in the dark as well.
On a tracked vehicle it pays to deal with the running gear and the lower hull before the hull is closed up. Unify the surface with primer, lay the base shade on with an airbrush and apply the decals only onto a smooth surface. The vehicle gets its character from the weathering: a darker wash in the recesses and transitions, dust pigments on the lower hull and on the fenders. Leave the cannon, the grenade launcher and the missile containers a shade darker than the hull, because that helps the module read clearly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
