This kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer MiniArt depicts the German heavy eight-wheeled armored reconnaissance vehicle Sd.Kfz.234/3, nicknamed Stummel, in 1:35 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model with rich detail and photo-etched parts. The vehicle carried a short 7.5 cm gun in an open superstructure. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Sd.Kfz.234 family was among the most capable German armored vehicles of the Second World War. The 234/3 version received a short-barreled 7.5 cm gun in its open hull for direct fire support, hence the nickname Stummel (meaning stump). Eight driven wheels and an air-cooled engine gave the vehicle high mobility even off roads.
Finish and paint the running gear and the fighting-compartment interior before closing the hull. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. For an authentic look, use an airbrush, washes in recesses, and pigments for mud and dust effects on the wheels and underside. The open superstructure offers plenty of room for an effective interior weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
