An extensive injection-molded plastic kit of the German Sd.Kfz.8 heavy half-track tractor in the DB9 variant from Trumpeter. The set contains a large number of parts, individual track links, photo-etched parts, rubber tires and a metal chain. It is a complex kit meant rather for more experienced modelers with an interest in German support vehicles.
The Sd.Kfz.8 was a German heavy half-track tractor of the Second World War in the weight class of around twelve tons. It served above all as a means of towing heavy guns - for example heavy howitzers and cannons - and of carrying the crew and the ammunition. The German army committed it on all the main fronts from the beginning of the war.
Expect careful work on the running gear and the individual track links - give them time and glue them patiently. Paint the running gear and the underside before you finish the body. For the patina, use dark washes in the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the tracks and the chassis. The rubber tires and the metal chain add to the realism.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
