An injection-molded plastic figure set in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. The box contains five figures of Soviet soldiers of the Second World War caught in a moment of rest — the men sit and lie with their gear set aside. The set also includes weapons and a range of small accessories that give the figures a faithful everyday and military context. It is not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft but a figure accessory for a diorama or a scene of its own.
The figures represent members of the Red Army in the Second World War in an informal moment away from the fighting. It is exactly these relaxed poses — seated, lying down, with weapons and gear set aside — that give a diorama life and tell a story between the combat scenes. The accessories and personal equipment match the period appearance of the Soviet infantry.
Bond the figures with liquid polystyrene cement and clean up the mold seams carefully so that they do not spoil the faces and the folds of the uniforms. It is worth spraying a primer and then painting — the faces and hands come into their own with layering of the shades, and the uniforms are brought out by a fine wash in the folds. Paint the small accessories separately and fit them last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
