This set is not a tank model, but a photo-etched detail set in 1:35 scale from Voyager Model, completed by a turned metal gun barrel. It is intended for building the Soviet light infantry tank T-26 (model 1935). The metal parts replace coarser plastic components with convincing fenders, grilles, brackets and small details that give the model sharpness and to-scale delicacy. The set is designed for the HobbyBoss 82496 kit.
The T-26 was a Soviet light infantry tank of the 1930s, derived from the British Vickers six-ton tank. In the model 1935 version it carried a single turret with a 45 mm gun and was among the most numerous vehicles of the Red Army in the late 1930s. It was deployed in the Spanish Civil War and during the Second World War, among others. The turned barrel in the set replaces the plastic part with a more convincing metal one.
Photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a cutting mat and bent over a metal ruler or in a bender. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or two-part epoxy; cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Before painting it helps to degrease the parts and spray a primer on them for good paint adhesion.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
