The T-34/85 was the final wartime development stage of the famous Soviet medium tank. Compared with the earlier versions it received a larger turret for a three-man crew and an 85 mm gun, so the commander no longer worked the weapon and could concentrate on command and on watching his surroundings. Power came from a diesel engine, which gave the tank decent mobility even in difficult terrain.
Model 1944 and factory number 183 refer to a particular production form of the vehicle. The individual factories differed in details of the turret, in the fittings of the hull and in small items on the fenders and the tools, so it is exactly these differences that make the model a specific machine rather than a general type. Which finish variants and decals the package offers is given in the manufacturer instructions.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Separate the parts with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder. Paint the lower hull and the road wheels before the tracks go onto them. The tools and the brackets on the hull are more convenient to paint separately and glue on once the base shade is finished. Wash and degrease the model before painting; the thinner and the thinning ratio follow the instructions of the paint manufacturer on the container.
The set suits modelers who build Second World War vehicles in 1:35 scale and collectors who care about a particular production version. Paints, glue, putty and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
