1:35 Tempo A400 Tieflader Pritsche is a plastic kit of the German three-wheeled delivery vehicle with a low flatbed body from MiniArt.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures the German light three-wheeled utility vehicle Tempo A400 in the Tieflader Pritsche version, that is with a low-set flatbed body of the kind used for delivering beer and other goods. It is an injection-molded plastic model that, besides the usual sprues, holds clear parts, a photo-etched fret and decals for three marking options. Sets of barrels belong on the bed and the cab doors can be built open or closed.
The Tempo A400 was made by the Hamburg firm Vidal and Sohn from the second half of the 1930s. It was a three-wheeler with a single driven front wheel and a small two-stroke engine, a cheap and nimble machine for urban delivery work. The low flatbed body made loading heavy crates and barrels easier, so vehicles of this type ran for breweries, bakeries and small tradesmen, and in the war years they stayed in civilian service as well as serving German authorities.
Deal with the engine bay and the chassis before you close the cab up, because after that only a fraction of them stays visible. Shape the photo-etched parts over a bending tool or a metal ruler and join them with super glue. Even out the bodywork with a base coat, apply the advertising lettering onto a smooth gloss surface and flatten the finish with a matte varnish at the end. The wooden bed and the barrels come out well with a dark wash and light dry-brushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
