Injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli Tiran 5 medium tank in 1:35 scale. The box contains well-shaped parts with fine detail, the characteristic added equipment of the Israeli conversion and decal sheets. The model matches the precise standard of molding Tamiya is known for.
The Tiran 5 came about through the conversion of Soviet-designed tanks captured by the Israeli army during the fighting in the Middle East. Israel adapted these vehicles to its own needs, added new equipment, stowage boxes, water containers and other fittings, and put them into service with its units. The Tiran 5 is thus a typical example of a practical approach in which captured material became fully fledged combat equipment.
Finish the running gear before you close the hull. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and separate the fine pieces with a sharp knife. For the Israeli desert camouflage, a base coat, a single sand shade with an airbrush, then a wash in the recesses and dry dust and mud pigments on the running gear work well. The added equipment and the containers are worth painting separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
