A photo-etched brass detail set for refining the engine compartment of the plastic kit of the American M113A1 armored personnel carrier in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle model but an accessory that swaps the molded plastic grilles for a fine etched screen that is genuinely see-through.
The M113 is one of the most widespread armored personnel carriers in the world; the M113A1 version received a diesel engine and served with a number of armies from the 1960s. Its light aluminum hull and easy maintenance made it a long-lived vehicle deployed in many conflicts. The cooling grilles on the upper part of the hull are exposed to the eye and an etched replacement refines them considerably.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife or etch scissors and form the bends with a bending tool. Bond them with super glue, degrease the metal surfaces before painting and treat them with primer. Paint the fine mesh with an airbrush.
An accessory for advanced modelers; the basic kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
