This is an injection-molded plastic set of figures of American soldiers dressed in rain capes and waterproof gear, in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. The set shows infantrymen in the rain and comes with weapons and personal equipment, so it brings a bad-weather diorama to life nicely. The figures are meant to be glued together and painted.
During the Second World War American soldiers used rubberized and impregnated capes in the rain, thrown over the uniform and the gear. The heavy, draping silhouette of a cape gives a scene a different character from an ordinary field uniform and is rewarding for practicing the painting of fabric and wet surfaces.
Cut the parts from the sprues, clean up the parting lines and glue with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Build the base up with primer, then with matte acrylics; bring out the folds of the capes with shading and glazes. A final semi-gloss varnish on the exposed areas will give the impression of wetness.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
