The Uzi is an Israeli submachine gun that became famous for its compact shape, short barrel and simple handling. It spread to a range of armies and security services and is among the most easily recognized weapons of the second half of the twentieth century. That is exactly why it appears often in modeling: thanks to its distinctive outline it is recognizable even in a small scale.
A weapon in 1:35 scale will complete a figure holding it or carrying it slung over a shoulder, and the interior of a vehicle, where a weapon tends to be stowed beside a seat or in a rack. In a diorama it serves as a small item that gives a scene a story: a weapon set down on a crate tells more about a crew's halt than another water container.
It is a small part, so work over a tray with raised edges so that a lost piece does not roll across the floor. Cut the excess material and manufacturing marks off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest gently. Wash and degrease the part before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the part: modeling cement is enough for polystyrene parts, while for other materials reach for super glue. Weapons in this scale suit a dark base, gentle lifting of the edges with a dry brush and distinguishing the stock or the grip from the rest of the weapon.
