Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit represents the Italian VBM Freccia wheeled infantry fighting vehicle. With 8x8 all-wheel drive and a turret carrying an automatic cannon, it belongs to the most modern Italian ground equipment, and among plastic kits it is still a fairly rare subject.
The abbreviation VBM is Italian for medium armored vehicle. The Freccia comes from the same eight-wheeled family as the well-known Centauro wheeled tank destroyer and was created in cooperation between Italian defense companies. Compared with the Centauro it carries lighter but faster-firing armament: a turret with a 25 mm automatic cannon and a coaxial machine gun, supplemented on some vehicles by a launcher for anti-tank guided missiles. The rear compartment carries an infantry squad, which dismounts through the rear doors. The Italian army has also deployed the vehicle on missions abroad, where the combination of high road speed, good crew protection and enough firepower against light targets proved itself.
Assemble the eight-wheeled chassis on a flat surface and make sure every wheel sits down, otherwise the model will not stand straight in the display case. Paint the tires separately and fit them only after the clear coat. Unify the surface with primer and lay down the base shade with an airbrush. Italian vehicles most often wear a single-color finish, so the result stands or falls on shading that color, subtle edge highlighting and a restrained wash in the recesses. Keep dust and mud to the lower hull and the wheel wells.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
