A resin detail set from CMK for more experienced modelers. This is not a car kit but an accessory which adds a faithfully rendered rear air-cooled boxer engine to a model of the Volkswagen Beetle. Fine castings capture the engine block and the ancillaries with details that injection-molded plastic usually does not achieve.
The Volkswagen Beetle in military as well as civilian form was powered by its characteristic flat four-cylinder (boxer) engine mounted at the rear and cooled by air. An exposed engine bay is a rewarding feature which adds realism to a model and lets the powerplant be shown off.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Sand resin with protection of the airways. The engine will stand out with a combination of metallic shades, washes and fine picking out of the wiring and the plumbing.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
