This is not an airplane kit but a resin, 3D-printed detail accessory. The set holds a faithful copy of the large FPU-12/A drop tank of 480 gallons, of the kind hung under models of the American carrier aircraft F/A-18E, F/A-18F and EA-18G in 1:48 scale.
Drop tanks extend the range of combat aircraft and are common stores on the Super Hornet family. A faithfully shaped tank with fine transitions and detail gives a model a realistic silhouette in its typical operational configuration.
Wash the mold release agent residue off the part and separate it from the print supports. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); wear respiratory protection while sanding. The smooth surface of the tank calls for a good primer, and when painting watch the fine panel lines, which come out after a light wash.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
