This resin, 3D-printed set holds four Soviet B-8M1 rocket pods for unguided rockets of 80 mm caliber. It is NOT an aircraft model but an external stores accessory for plastic kits. B-8M1 pods were carried by a range of Soviet and Russian aircraft, for example the MiG-23, MiG-27, MiG-29, the Su-17 through Su-27 and the Yak-38. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The B-8M1 is a Soviet rocket pod for unguided S-8 aircraft rockets of 80 mm caliber. It is hung on the stores pylons and serves for attacks on ground targets. The pod consists of a cylindrical housing with internal launch tubes for the individual rockets.
Cut the parts away from their blocks, wash off any production residue and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The mouths of the tubes stand out once shaded, and a fine patina with technical stencils brings the pods to life.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and, as an aftermarket set, calls for a more experienced hand. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
