A color three-dimensionally printed interior from Quinta Studio for the Buccaneer S.2B in its early form, 1:48 scale, laid out for the Airfix kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Blackburn Buccaneer was a British two-seat strike aircraft designed for flight at very low altitude, where it could close on a target under radar cover. The S.2B version served with the Royal Air Force as the land-based variant of a machine originally created for carrier service. The crew sits one behind the other, and with the canopy open both stations are clearly visible on a model.
The set consists of color three-dimensionally printed interior elements carried on backing decal paper: the pilot's instrument panel, the navigator's station, side control panels, seats with restraint belts and small controls. The elements have a real thickness, so once seated they stand above the surface and the cabin gains a depth that painting cannot reach. The layout is prepared for the Airfix kit in 1:48 scale.
The elements of the Quinta QD range are applied like a decal. Cut the part out, dip it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own, and therefore clear the surfaces in the cabin of burrs beforehand, level them, degrease them and coat them with a gloss clear coat, on which the element holds best; on intricate places a drop of cyanoacrylate helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution: they would attack the printed resin. Move the elements with tweezers, fine-tune the position while still damp and draw the excess water off with a soft cotton bud from the center to the edges.
The set is for the modeler who is building a Buccaneer with an open cabin and wants legible instruments in both stations without the labor of painting. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
