A painting mask set for the F-4J and F-4S Phantom II in 1:48 scale from the Reskit brand holds cut masks for a model of the naval versions. It is an accessory for painting, not a kit. Cut for the Zoukei-Mura kit.

A set of cut masks for painting a model of the Phantom in the J and S versions in 1:48 scale. Both versions belong to the naval branch of the type; the S configuration arose by modernizing the older J configuration, but the airframe kept the same basic outlines of the glazing, so a masking set covers them together. The package holds masks alone, no plastic or resin parts.
The cockpit of the Phantom is two-seat and so there are almost twice as many frames as on a single-seat aircraft. Masking it by hand is drawn out and symmetry is easily lost in it. Cut masks shorten that time markedly and ensure that both cockpits come out the same. The set is cut for the Zoukei-Mura kit, so check that you are building exactly that one — the outlines of the parts differ between manufacturers.
First wash the transparent parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry completely. Work one mask at a time and keep checking that the edges bed down everywhere; on a two-seat cockpit it is easy to overlook some small piece. Before the color coats it pays to spray over the edges of the masks with the color the frame is to have — any creeping under will then be in the right shade. Apply the paint in thin coats and take the mask off while it is only touch dry. Wipe any remaining traces of adhesive off with a cotton bud and water.
This is a masking accessory, not a model. The kit and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
