This set from Red Fox Studio is a fully pre-painted three-dimensional (3D) instrument panel and cockpit details made of thin acrylic. It is not a kit and not a waterslide decal either, but a finished surface detail glued directly onto the plastic interior. The two-seat F version has panels for the front as well as the rear cockpit; the set captures them faithfully with a hyperrealistic print of the displays and an imitation of the sheen of the glasses. It is prepared to measure for the Hasegawa kit in 1:48 scale.
The Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet is the two-seat version of the carrier-borne multi-role fighter of the US Navy. The second crew member operates the sensors and the armament, which is reflected in the fitting out of the rear cockpit. The machine shares its airframe and powerplant with the single-seat E version, but offers two separate workstations.
The parts are separated from the carrier frame and glued onto the interior, best with super glue (cyanoacrylate); PVA glue is also possible. The surface can be gently highlighted with a wash and matted down with acrylic varnish. Before gluing, we recommend checking the fit dry.
It is an interior detail accessory, not a complete model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
