A photo-etched accessory set in 1:48 scale for a model of the three-engine Junkers Ju 52/3m. It brings metal parts of a thickness an injection-molded kit cannot achieve.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Junkers Ju 52/3m is a three-engine low-wing aircraft that became one of the best-known transport aircraft of the 1930s and 1940s. You recognize it at first sight by its corrugated duralumin skin, which gave the airframe stiffness and is its most striking feature. It flew in civil transport and in military service, where it served to carry cargo, to drop paratroopers and to supply units. It is exactly the corrugated skin that makes the model a rewarding subject, because the surface has a strong texture of its own.
This is a photo-etched set in 1:48 scale, classed among the metal accessories. Photo-etch suits everywhere a part is to be really thin and yet strong, that is, on sheet metal stiffeners, handles, grilles and on the small equipment that cannot be made from plastic at the same thickness. The make-up of the parts, their position on the model and the kit they are shaped for are described in the instructions supplied with the set.
Keep the fret together and separate the parts only just before fitting them, as individual pieces are easily lost. Cut with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remainder of the tab down with a fine file. Make the bends over the edge of a steel ruler so that they are straight along their whole length. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a wire, not straight from the bottle. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and use a primer intended for metal.
The set contains photo-etched parts with instructions. The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
