The plastic kit Zvezda 1:48 Lavochkin La-5 captures the Soviet fighter aircraft of the Second World War with its distinctive radial-engine cowling.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Lavochkin La-5 fighter in 1:48 scale from Zvezda. The model offers detailed surfaces, a well worked-out radial engine and a pilot figure, and it comes with waterslide decals.
The Lavochkin La-5 was a Soviet fighter aircraft of the Second World War. It came about by rebuilding the earlier LaGG-3, in which the liquid-cooled V12 was replaced by a more powerful air-cooled radial engine. That gave the aircraft its characteristic broader nose profile and markedly better handling. The La-5 proved itself above all in the dogfights on the Eastern Front and became one of the key Soviet fighters of its day.
Finish and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage up. The radial engine stands out if you pick out the cylinders with drybrushing. Spray the Soviet camouflage with an airbrush and bring out the panel lines with a discreet wash; seal the matt surface with a protective coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
