The SPACE line from Eduard is a detail accessory, not a kit. It combines fully colored 3D interior decals (instrument panels and side consoles with raised relief) with pre-painted photo-etched steel parts, above all the seat belts. The result is a richly detailed cockpit of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird in 1:48 scale without lengthy painting.
The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird was an American strategic reconnaissance aircraft capable of flight high above three times the speed of sound. Its two-man crew sat in a narrow cockpit densely equipped with instruments, which this set reproduces faithfully.
The colored 3D decals are not immersed in water: only the carrier paper is dampened, the element is lifted off with tweezers and seated on the interior parts with white glue. The photo-etched steel belts are bent and glued with cyanoacrylate glue. The combination of the two media gives the cockpit depth as well as realistic fabric belts. We recommend unifying everything with matte varnish at the end.
The accessory contains neither a model nor paints; it serves to detail a kit bought separately.
