Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M1024A1 M-ATV armored cross-country vehicle of the MRAP class in the less usual 1:48 scale from Rye Field Model. The kit offers a full interior and, despite the smaller scale, a rich breakdown of the hull, the chassis and the cab. Check the exact contents of the package and the decals against the details given on the box.
The M-ATV (MRAP All-Terrain Vehicle) was developed by Oshkosh to give the US Army a lighter and more agile cross-country vehicle of the MRAP class, resistant to mines and improvised charges. It was deployed from 2009, especially in the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan, where the heavier MRAP vehicles were not up to the job. It is powered by a diesel engine and the vehicle has a shaped hull that deflects the blast wave of an explosion.
First assemble and paint the interior and the chassis, and only then close the hull up. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic; in the small 1:48 scale work with a sharp knife and fine tweezers. Lay on a primer and paint with an airbrush — a desert sandy shade suits it. Suggest dust and mud with pigments and a wash, and fine-tune the glass and the optics at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
