New Ware Phantom FGR.2 BASIC mask set (1:48)

This is not a kit but a set of self-adhesive masking templates from the manufacturer New Ware for plastic models of the British Phantom FGR.2 version in 1:48 scale. The masks are machine die-cut to close tolerances from kabuki paper, which follows shapes well and comes off after spraying with no adhesive residue. The BASIC level covers the outer masking of the two-seat cockpit glazing and the other clear parts, and the landing gear wheels.

The real subject

The McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2 (F-4M) was a British two-seat multirole fighter derived from the F-4 Phantom II, adapted for the needs of the Royal Air Force and powered by Rolls-Royce Spey engines. The divided canopy with its many frames makes accurate masks a marked saving of time.
