The first part of the McDonnell F-4G Phantom Wild Weasel 1:48 collection, decals from Xtradecal. Markings of the American aircraft meant for destroying air defenses.
Responsibility details are not available.
A water-slide sheet from the British brand Xtradecal in 1:48 scale. It is devoted to the American F-4G machine in the role of a so-called radar hunter; by its name it is the first part of this collection. In the package you will find a printed sheet and instructions with a placement drawing. The model of the aircraft is sold separately.
The F-4G came about by converting the two-seat combat version of the Phantom. Instead of a cannon it received an extensive array of receivers in the nose that could locate a transmitting air defense radar and pass its position to an anti-radiation missile. In the second cockpit sat an electronic warfare specialist whose work decided the success of the whole mission. These machines played a marked part during operations in the Persian Gulf in the early 1990s and stayed in service until they were replaced by more modern equipment.
Low-visibility gray markings tend to be thin and on a rougher surface the base easily shows through, so give the preparation of the finish more time than usual. Apply the matte overcoat in thin layers, otherwise the print will gray over and lose legibility. Pick the panel lines out with a subtle dark shade rather than with strong contrast.
The package holds only the marking sheet and instructions; there are no plastic parts in it.
