1:48 One busy day, carrier crew on deck, scene 2, six figures from Reskit: a genre group of flight deck crew for dioramas in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A six-piece set of resin figures built not around one working role but around a situation: the ordinary busy traffic on a flight deck. The scene 2 designation tells this group apart from another, separately sold composition on the same subject. The figures in the two sets differ in their poses and their placement, so they can be combined into one larger scene. In 1:48 scale it is an add-on to a diorama, not a kit of an aircraft.
Traffic on a flight deck is dense, loud and precisely laid out. The crew move in narrow lanes between parked machines, communicate mostly with their hands and wear hearing protection and color-coded vests according to their working role. That is where the visual rhythm comes from that makes carrier deck dioramas so attractive: patches of color from the vests against the gray deck, with the machines packed tightly side by side. The figures capture ordinary working poses rather than dramatic ones, and groups like that read more convincingly on a model.
Wash the castings, remove the casting residue with a saw and a fine file and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a primer on before painting. With six figures it pays to plan the placement before you reach for the colors, because the poses decide where each figure has to stand and where it is looking. Paint the vests in deep tones and keep the coveralls in a muted one, or the scene will become so lively that it overwhelms the model of the aircraft. Unify the whole with a light wash and a matte coat, so that the figures optically belong to the same setting as the deck.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin castings. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
