This resin figure set in 1:48 scale captures the crew of the OV-10D+ Bronco observation and light attack aircraft standing, that is outside the cockpit. The name gives two figures and the designation type 2, by which the set is distinguished from the type 1 variant offered alongside it. Reskit concentrates on accessories for modelers who want to place a finished machine into a situation, not just on a bare base.
The OV-10 Bronco is a twin-engine turboprop machine for forward air control, reconnaissance and light attack from low altitude. The OV-10D+ version came about through an upgrade for night deployment and with the US Marine Corps it lasted in service into the 1990s. The crew consisted of a pilot and an observer, both in ordinary flight gear with a harness, a helmet and a life vest.
Wash the castings first in lukewarm water with detergent, so that no mold release agent stays on the surface. A thin coat of filler follows, and only on that will the covering paint sit. A flight coverall comes into its own when the base shade is lightened on the edges and the recesses are darkened with a glaze. Leave the faces and hands for the very end, because that is where most mistakes are made.
The package contains the figures. Paints, glue and the aircraft model do not go with them.
