A masking package from the Czech maker Omask cut for the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt model in 1:48 scale from MiniArt. It is not a kit - there are no aircraft parts in the box. It is an accessory that takes care of the painting: the ready-made mask cutouts follow the shapes of the clear parts of that kit exactly, so there is no measuring and no trimming of tape directly on the model.
The O-max set is a more comprehensive package from Omask than an ordinary mask set. Alongside the self-adhesive masks for the glazing it adds flexible foam plugs for the landing gear bays. These are simply pressed into the bays - they are not glued, they hold by their own springiness, and they can be taken out and used again. On the Thunderbolt, with its deep main gear bays, that is a real help: the detail inside stays clean even when you airbrush the whole underside.
For modelers building the P-47D range in 1:48 from MiniArt who want crisp transitions on the canopy and clean landing gear bays without masking by hand. It is just as worthwhile for experienced builders as for those who dislike masking. The set is used only together with the model; on its own you will not build anything.
