The P-47 Thunderbolt was an American single-seat fighter, one of the heaviest and most massive machines of its class. It was powered by an eighteen-cylinder twin-row radial piston engine, complemented by a turbocharger in the rear of the fuselage, to which ducting ran under the cockpit floor. The P-47M version was created at the end of the war as a faster rendering with a more powerful engine and entered the fighting in Europe only in the final months. The teardrop canopy took side area away from the fuselage, so a low dorsal fin was added ahead of the vertical tail, which gave the aircraft its directional stability back. It is exactly this shape that the kit captures.

On a more richly equipped release it pays to build in subassemblies and to keep test-fitting dry, above all on the engine and the cockpit. Finish and paint the interior before you close the fuselage, because after that you cannot get inside. Mask the teardrop canopy before spraying and paint the frames together with their surroundings. The smooth surfaces of the aircraft forgive little, so fill and sand over carefully and clean the surface before painting.
For the modeler who builds American fighters and wants a less usual version of the Thunderbolt on the shelf as well. Paints, glue and accessories are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
