Plastic kit of the Sukhoi Su-33 Flanker D (Kinetic) in 1:48 scale, the Russian carrier-based fighter with folding wings and additional canards.
Responsibility details are not available.
A modern injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian carrier-based fighter in 1:48 scale from Kinetic. It captures the Su-33, the naval version of the Su-27 family, with additional canards, folding wing tips and a tailhook for landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier. The kit stands out for its state-of-the-art surface texture, a high level of detail, a photo-etched fret and a number of optional and positionable parts. The box contains parts in gray plastic, clear parts, photo-etch and a generous decal sheet.
The Su-33 came about as the carrier development of the successful Su-27 fighter for operation from an aircraft carrier. Compared with the land-based version it received strengthened landing gear, a tailhook, folding wings and tail surfaces to save space, and additional canards, which improve behavior at low speed during the take-off from the ski jump and on landing. It is a large and powerful twin-engine machine intended for the defense of the group and for air combat over the sea.
Finish and paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays first, and only then close up the fuselage. Make up your mind whether to build the wings spread or folded into the parked position. Use liquid cement for plastic, primer and an airbrush; glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and mask the clear parts before painting. The characteristic gray camouflage comes alive with soft transitions of shade, washes in the engraved lines and restrained weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
