Responsibility details are not available.
An air pressure probe, that is, a pitot tube, is a thin tube projecting from the leading edge of a wing or from the nose, with which an aircraft measures its airspeed. On a model it is one of the thinnest features of the whole machine, and that is exactly why the plastic part from a kit tends to be thickened and easily breaks or bends during the build. A turned metal replacement part has the right slenderness and copes even with ordinary handling when the model is carried.
A turned metal part for 1:48 scale in a form for American aircraft of the Second World War. The exact number of pieces and their dimensions are given on the packaging and in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the original plastic part off with a sharp blade and sand the surface down. Drill a hole at the mounting point to suit the diameter of the pin, and choose a drill a little smaller rather than larger, as a hole can always be widened. Glue the part in with cyanoacrylate glue and fit it only at the end of the build, so that it does not get in the way while you work. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and coat it with a base paint intended for metal, otherwise the finish will come off during handling.
The kit of the aircraft, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
