A set of masking stencils for a model of the A-10 in 1:72 scale, in a version for the A as well as the C. The masks make it possible to create sharp transitions by spraying, that is without laboriously drawing round with a brush. The designation double-sided means that the set allows for masking from both sides of the glazing, so the cockpit frames look clean when seen from inside too.
The A-10 is a single-seat American attack aircraft with a straight wing, a twin vertical tail and a rotary cannon in the nose. The original A-10A served from the second half of the 1970s; the modernized A-10C received new cockpit equipment and extended options for carrying precision munitions.
Stick the stencils onto a clean, degreased surface before spraying. Press the edges down carefully with a wooden stick or blunt tweezers so that paint cannot get under them. Spray in thin coats and aim square to the mask, not at a sharp angle. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch; after a longer time the paint strengthens and lifting it off can be rougher. Remove any adhesive residue by wiping gently with a dry cloth.
The set suits modelers who spray and want a sharp transition on the glazing without ruling it by hand. Working with it is not complicated and even a less experienced builder will manage it, and it saves a lot of the time that would otherwise go on fixing paint runs and repainting frames that did not come out.
The paints, glue and modeling tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
