Colored three-dimensional interior elements from Kelik for the kit of the A-10C attack aircraft from the firm Great Wall Hobby in 1:72 scale. They complete the cockpit without hand rendering of the instruments.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American attack aircraft for the direct support of ground forces, for which the nickname Warthog took hold. The modernized A-10C version received a digital cockpit with colored multi-function displays and new control panels, so its interior differs conspicuously from the original form. In 1:72 scale this is a small space, but one that is clearly visible with the canopy slid back.
Colored three-dimensional interior elements prepared for the A-10C kit from the firm Great Wall Hobby. The graphics are layered and slightly three-dimensional, so the displays, switches, panel labels and seat belts stand out even without hand painting. The rendering of the dials with a brush becomes unnecessary and, once stuck on, the surface of the panels acts more three-dimensionally than a flat print.
First spray the cockpit with the base color and let it dry perfectly, because the base has to be smooth, clean and degreased. The procedure for application differs between the individual sets, so go by the manufacturer's instructions before working. They also give the way the elements are fastened. Separate the individual elements with a sharp blade, transfer them with tweezers and press them down with a soft tool, so that they seat into the corners of the panels and onto the edges of the seat.
For a modeler who is building the A-10C in 1:72 scale and wants legible instruments in the cockpit without painting tiny dials. The work takes roughly an hour and even a less experienced builder can manage it, but fine tweezers and good lighting come in useful. The set does not contain a kit, paints or glue, unless stated otherwise.
