Painting tips

First wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent to remove any mold release agent left from the mold. Cut off any casting blocks carefully and sand the area smooth. Apply a primer before painting, then work with acrylics; the coat of the animal comes out nicely with dry brushing and gentle toning. A final matte varnish unifies the surface.
