1:72 Aerial bases - Great Britain

Aerial bases - Great Britain 1:72 (Firma49)

A set of fine resin parts: the bases (mounts) of radio aerials in the British version in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket accessory for superdetailing, not a kit. They replace the coarse or missing parts from the box and give a vehicle model a realistic look. The manufacturer is Firma49.

What it is for

Aerial bases are the small mounts by which a radio aerial was attached on British military vehicles and equipment. The faithfully shaped resin parts are markedly finer than injection-molded plastic, and once a thin wire is fitted in place of the aerial the model looks more convincing.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue.
• Before cutting off the supports, the parts can be dipped briefly in warm water; the resin gives and does not crack.
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• Sand wet and with your airways protected.

Who it is for

• Modelers superdetailing British military vehicles in 1:72.
• Builders of dioramas who want faithful small detail.

Supplied unpainted as a resin accessory. Paints, glue, aerial wire and the base model are not included in the package.
