An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Republic F-84G Thunderjet jet fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model belongs to the simplified Easy Assembly range with a low number of parts, large one-piece sections of the airframe and a one-piece canopy. The package holds decals for several markings; the exact contents may differ between releases.
The F-84G was the definitive version of the straight-winged Thunderjet, which entered service in 1951. Compared with the earlier F-84E it received a more powerful engine, equipment for in-flight refueling and the ability to carry heavy armament, nuclear weapons included. It flew in the Korean War and became a widespread type with NATO allies as well; in 1954 the American Thunderbirds display team flew it too.
Glue the large airframe parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints down. For a natural metal finish use a metallic paint over a gloss surface and vary the individual panels; apply colorful markings, for instance a display scheme, only over smooth gloss varnish, so that the decals take well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
