An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Caudron CR.714 light fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker RS Models. It is a short-run kit with finely engraved panel lines and detail in the cockpit and the landing gear bays. The glazing is done as a multi-part injection-molded canopy. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and suits more experienced builders.
The CR.714 was a wooden light fighter derived from Caudron racing aircraft. The prototype flew in 1938, and production machines were powered by a Renault engine. The armament consisted of four 7.5 mm machine guns in two pods under the wings. In combat it was used above all by a unit made up of Polish pilots in French service during the fighting of 1940.
With a short-run kit it pays to clean the parts up carefully and to dry-fit them before gluing. Join the plastic with a thin cement and glue the multi-part canopy with an adhesive for glazing. Matte shades bring out the camouflage schemes of French fighters; use a gloss coat before applying the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
