A finished collector model of the British Centurion Mk.3 tank in 1:72 scale, with the markings of the 8th Hussars from the time of the Korean War.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Centurion came about at the end of the Second World War as a British universal tank, and the Mk.3 version turned it into a machine that was talked about all over the world. It was given a gun of 83.4 millimeter caliber, known as the 20-pounder, and gun stabilization, thanks to which it could be aimed on the move. Power came from a spark-ignition Meteor V12. The combination of strong armor, accurate fire and a reliable chassis proved itself in broken country, where fire had to be delivered across valleys at long range.
This is a finished model in 1:72 scale, assembled and painted at the factory, markings included. It is worked up in the guise of a machine of the 8th Hussars from the time of the Korean War and carries the vehicle's own name, Columbo. Nothing is glued, sprayed or added; it is enough to unpack the model and stand it in a display case.
For collectors of British postwar equipment and for anyone building a display case around a conflict. The Korean War tends to be represented in collections considerably less than the Second World War, and the Centurion was among its most striking machines. Paired with an Israeli Centurion of a later date, it shows clearly how the type changed over the years. The 1:72 scale is common for military vehicles and aircraft alike, so the model keeps its size relationship with other vehicles of the same scale.
A finished model is supplied. It is not a kit, so the package holds no glue, paints or decals, and neither a display case nor a base is part of it, unless stated otherwise.
