1:72 Da Nang Air Base 1970 type 2 - Acrylic 3 mm (410 x 270 mm) (410 g)

A large area for sizeable machines

This version offers considerably more room than the other variants of the same airfield. The sheet measures 410 x 270 millimeters, which converts to around thirty by nineteen meters of real surface. A twin-engine machine with a large span, a helicopter with its blades spread or a pair of smaller aircraft side by side will fit here without the model overhanging the edge.

When the larger size makes sense

What decides is the span, not the length of the fuselage. A model whose wings reach beyond the sheet loses contact with the scene and the whole impression falls apart; an unnecessarily large area around a small machine, on the other hand, looks empty. Before you reach for the largest format, measure your model across the wings and add a few centimeters on each side.

Something for the builder to weigh up

As the area grows, so does the demand on what stands on it. Thirty meters of empty concrete calls for additions: bomb trolleys, an ammunition cart, a ladder, two or three figures. Without them it is the size of the sheet rather than the aircraft that stands out. Anyone who does not have such accessories and does not want to go hunting for them will manage with a smaller format and the result will be tighter. Anyone who collects figures and ground equipment, on the other hand, has here an area where there is finally somewhere to put them.

The material stays the same as on the smaller versions, only a sheet of this size is noticeably heavier, so hold it by the edges when carrying it. The largest format may not fit into an ordinary glazed display case, so measure the inside width of your shelves before buying. For transport to a show it is often practical to carry the sheet in its own packaging and fit the model on site.
