1:72 F-14D Tomcat - interior 3D decals for Tamiya kit

The interior of the F-14D Tomcat for the Tamiya kit, 1:72 scale

A set of colored three-dimensional decals for the cockpit of the American F-14D Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:72 scale. According to its name it is intended for the Tamiya kit.

The real subject

The Tomcat was a carrier fighter of the US Navy with a variable-sweep wing: it opened out for takeoff and landing and drew back against the fuselage in fast flight. The crew were two men seated one behind the other, the pilot at the front and behind him the weapon systems officer, who operated the radar and the guided missiles. The F-14D was the last form of the type, with modernized avionics and new instruments in both cockpits.

What the set contains

Colored interior elements with modeled relief, that is the instrument panels of both cockpits, the side panels and further inner surfaces. The dials, the screens and the markings are done in color, and you do not have to paint them in by hand. The maker states the exact scope of the sheet in the instructions.

Application tips

• The way they are applied differs between the individual lines, so go by the instructions from the maker Kelik.
• Varnish the base first, let it dry thoroughly and degrease it; the elements hold only on a smooth, clean surface.
• Lift the elements with tweezers, seat them dry and press them down with a soft tool, so that they settle into the corners as well.
• Sort the elements into the front and rear cockpit in advance; the instruments of the two stations differ.

Who it is for

For the modeler who wants both cockpits of the Tomcat finished quickly and without painting fine dials. It is an accessory for a kit, not the kit itself.

The kit, paints and glue are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
